Employee's undertakings and Duties



The Employee is employed as a waiter or waitress and is expected to undertake duties of this nature for day-to-day operation of the restaurant, such duties to include but not limited to;

a) Serving and taking orders from employer's clients;

b) Cleaning and re-setting tables after the departure of the Employer's clients;

c) Generally maintaining the Employer's restrooms, workplace and changerooms clean, tidy and presentable.

d) When business is not too busy, may be required to help with some kitchen duties;

e) The more you ask, the more you sell. Always innitiates Employer's clients to spend more.
If the Employee is employed as a chef or kitchenhand and is expected to undertake duties of this nature for the day-to-day operation of the business, such duties to include but not limited to;

  a) The preparation of food and dishes as per the instructions of the Employer, such dishes to include all those listed in the Employer's menus as amended from time to time;

b) To keep thr Employer's workplace and kitchen area in a clean, tidy and presentable state;

c) Ensure that the kitchen closes on time.


Uniform

Waitperson: white shirt, black pant/skirt, closed black shoes. No sport shoes or high heeled shoes.

Kitchen Staff: appropriate hair covering, black pant, chef coat (provided by Employer), closed shoes.


Absenteeism

The Employee shall attend at all of the times designated by the Employer including all times during which the Employer's premises are open for business and any failure to attend without any reason for absense shall risk termination of employment.
The Employee may be absent from work during such times as the Employee is too sick from illness or injury to work.
Proof of such illness or injury shall be upon the Employee. The Employee may be absent from work during such times as the Employee is too sick from illness or injury to work.

The Employee shall produce to the Employer within one day a certificate from a registered Medical Practitioner certifying the nature of the illness and that the effects of such illness or injury are such as to preclude the Employee from working. Absenteeism for special occasion or event must be given at least two weeks notice.


Consumption of Food and Beverages

The Employer Shall provide one meal to the Employee for every five house worked per day. This meal does not include seafoods and the Employer shall pay for only ten minutes to the Employee for the consumption of that meal. If longer time is needed then any of that time after the ten minutes shall be payable by the Employee. Buying takeaway foods for Employee and Consumption of softdrinks will be charged at 20% discounted.


General House Rules

For the smooth operation of the business, Employees must observe and uphold these regulations.

a) Employees must be hardworking, honest, energetic, clean cut, friendly with genuine customer skill and have a strong commitment to work.

b) Within reasonable doubt, the customer's always right. Employees must please customers as much as it is possible and report any complaints to the Manager.

c) Employees shall not bring personal problems to work. Full concentration is needed at all times and Employees shall not talk about non-work related issues during working hours.

d) The show of professionalism when performing tasks is required at all times. Employees must show motivation and must not be lazy or tardy.

e) Employees shall not serve alchohol to people who are underage or people who show drunkeness.

f) Employees shall not spend longer time with friends or relatives then that which is necessary to obtain an order.

g) Employees shall not give discounts without approval of the Employer or Manager.

h) Smoking, consumption of alcohol, the use of mobile phones or restaurant phones for personal reasons is prohibited.

i) Employees shall take notice and observe all customers entering or leaving the restaurant. Be careful of customers leaving without paying. All unpaid bills shall be payable by the Employees to the Employer.

j) Be careful in handling with fragiles. All breakages result of carelessness is payable by the Employee.

k) All staff members must show their bag(s) to the Manager for inspection before leaving the premises.

l) All staff members must work together as a good team.

 

Confidentiality


The Employee shall at all times keep confidential all Confidential informations which at any time during the Employees employment come into the Employees knowledge and shall not at any time divulge or use any such information at any time. In relation to food, it's service the Confidential Information includes:

a) any menu or any part of a menu;

b) the process and preparation of any recipe for a particullar dish.

 

Termination of Employment

In the case of Gross Misconduct the employment may be terminated without any notice.
a) Stealing anything from the Employer

b) Failing to attend at the place of employment without a proper excuse or reason

c) Attending to work whilst influenced by any quantity of drugs or alcohol

d) Negligently damaging any of the property of the Employer

e) Breaching any obligations in respect of the Confidential information.

f) Continuing to disobey any direction given by the Employer related to the Employees employment after receiving one written warning of the misconduct which notice shall specify the nature of the conduct complained of and shall warn the Employee that any repetition of such conduct shall result on termination of the employement.
